Our program starts with our Nido room (0-18 months), then your child will journey to the Pre-Primary room (18 months to 3 years), and when they are of age, they make their final journey to the Primary room (3 - 5 years).
Our Classrooms:
Infants
Our Nido Classroom is a warm and cozy home away from home for infants ages 6 weeks through 18 months of age to safely explore the world around them.
Nido is Italian for nest, and you’ll see that reflected in the beautiful, natural materials that infants explore during their time in our Nido Classroom. Cushioned floor mats and open shelving with age appropriate toys foster independence in our littlest learners under the caring and watchful eyes of our loving Nido teachers.
Our teachers love spending quality time getting to know each child’s unique personality. A maximum group size of 8 infants and 2 teachers allows ample time for one-on-one care and bonding. We dress for the weather, as our Nido friends love to get some fresh air in the afternoons with their teachers in our fenced-in play yard!
Toddlers
Our Pre-Primary Classroom is a fun and welcoming environment for children aged 18 months through 3 years as they begin to explore the world around them.
Each day students in our Pre-Primary class learn practical life skills through hands-on Montessori lessons (like self-dressing, pouring, and washing!). Our adventurous Toddlers balance this time with open-ended play, and spend a great deal of time outdoors rain or shine. Daily group activities include circle time and crafts, helping foster close relationships with their teachers and peers.
In taking care of their bodies, classroom environment, and community of peers, toddlers develop manners, compassion, imagination, independence, and a love of learning!
Preschoolers
Our Primary Classroom is a warm and inviting space for three to six year olds to build independence, preparing them for Kindergarten and beyond!
Each day in the Primary Classroom features a hands-on morning work period where children explore Montessori materials that further their math, geography, language, and sensorial learning under the guidance of a Montessori-trained lead teacher. Next we have a group circle time, followed by outdoor movement and free play. We eat together (a nutritious morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack) and have a daily rest or nap period in the afternoon, followed by more time outside.
Our daily routine provides consistency to growing minds, and helps ease children through transitions. In their time at A Little Journey Montessori School, our Preschoolers build a strong academic foundation and meaningful relationships with their teachers and peers, practicing the social and emotional skills that will carry them into Kindergarten and beyond!

Our History
A Little Journey Montessori School was created by Stephany Journey after gaining a decade of experience working in a Montessori classroom as a Lead Teacher and Director.
With Stephany’s passion for the Montessori method and early childhood education, she wanted to provide quality childcare and an excellence in education, along with an environment where working families would feel safe and confident leaving their children in the care of her program.
